Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Lead will be responsible for both assisting in the training of other Sanitation employee, as well as performing required Sanitation tasks listed below:

Assist with training employees, assigning and directing work, coaching, addressing minor complaints and resolving minor issues;

Inspecting equipment and all areas of the plant and ensuring employees are using correct cleaning techniques;

Assist employees in cleaning and sanitizing of bakery equipment, disassembling and assembling equipment and using correct chemical techniques;

Ensure employees are following Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) at all times;

Perform sanitation duties as required, including pressure washing, cleaning and sanitizing plant, and wiping down equipment and panels;

Monitor chemical and supplies inventory and inform Sanitation Supervisor of orders when needed;

Ensure employees are using PPE and looking for any safety improvements that can be made.

SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:  The mixer is required to pick up and move or dump 8-12 bags of ingredients weighing up to 50 lbs. every hour depending on what product is running.

POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARDS

Automatic mixer and dough extruder are all capable of causing severe physical injuries.

Extreme care must be used by the Mixer to ensure that hands, arms, and other body parts are away from the bars when running the mixer to remove the dough and out of the machines when they are running.

Water used in mixing area is extremely hot and is capable of causing severe burns.

Cutting dough with the dough cutter requires using force which can cause it to penetrate the skin.

Mixing area floor can become wet and very slick and safety measures must be followed at all times to ensure falls and injuries do not occur.

Repetitive use of one hand exclusively to cut the dough during the shift may cause injury which mandates alternate use of both hands while performing this duty.

Special requirement listed requires repetitive lifting of dough and ingredients. Lifting too much weight can strain or permanently injure body parts.

Responsibilities:

Mixer is responsible for setting up the mixing area involving getting the minor ingredients, programming the bulk flour and water systems, and starting a mix sheet at the beginning of each shift.

Duties:

Ensure mixes come out one after the other with no interruption. Just as importantly, the mixes must have consistent quality. Texture, temperature, and tensile strength must not vary from mix to mix. If they do vary, the entire operation down line from the mixing area is affected in an adverse manner. The mixer communicates with the line operator to be sure mixes are excellent. Uninterrupted consistent quality is the first goal of the mixer;

Responsible for cleaning the entire mixing area;

Ensure hopper is full of dough.
